BENALU on the move! – Press realease

After the appointment of a new President before summer – Renaud Sueur having replaced André Lebrun as President – BENALU today announces it has completed the acquisition of MEGA company.

MEGA is a Polish company specialized in conceiving and building aluminium and steel tippers for trailers, semi-trailers and rigid trucks. Its factory is located in Nysa (450 km from Warsaw, 70 km from Wrocław). The production unit covers a surface area of 66.000 square meters (the global size of the factory being 145.000 square meters).

In 2016, the sales of MEGA amounted to 80.7 MPLN (19.2 M€). The company employs close to 300 people.

MEGA has significant market shares in Poland, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

Moreover, MEGA’s factory, which is ideally located to serve the Eastern European and Scandinavian markets, benefits from a very strong growth potential.

This acquisition is thus a determining operation to enhance BENALU’s position as a European leader in the production of industrial vehicles for dry bulk transport.

Renaud Sueur, BENALU’s President, states that: « We are very satisfied to have completed the acquisition of MEGA, in a highly competitive environment. This acquisition represents a great development opportunity for BENALU Group on the fast-developing Eastern European markets. It greatly completes our European industrial footprint. It is always very satisfactory to realize an acquisition that is perfectly in line with the development strategy of the group one runs. »

Indeed, this acquisition is totally in keeping with BENALU’s strategy, which aims at reinforcing its position as a European leader on the market of large tonnage trucks (semi-trailers and large tonnage rigid trucks) for the transport of dry bulk.

This strategy is also at the root of the evolution of the positioning of BENNES MARREL, BENALU’s subsidiary.

Renaud Sueur thus told us: « the sales of BENNES MARREL’s range of steel or mixed tipping semi-trailers have amazingly grown over the last three years. This range of vehicles has thus become the main output of the historical production site of BENNES MARREL, in Andrézieux-Bouthéon. Given this success, we have decided, this being consistent with our strategy, to specialize the Andrézieux-Bouthéon’s production site on the production of tipping semi-trailers , semi-circular tippers for rigid trucks (the so-called « Guillaume tippers » in particular) and large volume tippers for export. This decision implies that the production of small straight truck tippers is progressively stopped from July 2017 »
